A connected car experience.

The Challenge

Upgrade the user experience and improve the ease of use, so that drivers will use more features then the basic ones. all considering the technical limitations and capabilities.

Approach

After a deep examination of the original system statistics, we came up with the approach of splitting the system into two main parts as there are two states of mind of the driver - Driving and Stopping, Therefore also different sets of actions he does in each

Simple Layout,
Large Buttons

The given screen size & light conditions; technical screen capabilities and the states when the driver has less attention , led us to design a simple layout with large buttons.

Personalization
Over time

Besides showing a photo of the car to create emotional connection and personalization, we added a dynamic colour background that correlate with the time of the day.

Voice Recognition
System

Understanding that the driver's attention during his ride is something needs attention in the interface, one of the features of the system was actions activated by a voice recognition system - allowing an easy handless interaction and a safer ride.
